Day 361 (June 29th, 2011)
Title: Death Grasp Flower
Clearly I need to not stay up so late, because when I saw this flower, the first thing I though of was how it looked like a hand trying to grasp the "stem" which was stabbing it. I need more rest and less med's...
Enjoy!

Photo 365 - Day 238 (Imperial Fail)
Day 238 (February 26th, 2011)
Title: Imperial Fail
Sometimes when I take a shot and I try and think of a short little "story" to go with it, I just get stumped on what to write - either because I just can't think of anything, or (as in this case), there are just too many things I could write about this. I think I'll just leave it to the viewers to imagine the story that goes with this photo, only because I think others might have a more active imagination than I and could really think up some funny stuff.
Technical bits: Due to the urgency in trying to capture this photo, it came out much blurrier than I was wanting, but because of its humor level, I decided to use it anyway. It was shot using my 50mm prime at: f/2.0, 1/80th (ISO 400), with no flash.
Enjoy!

Photo 365 - Day 208 (Cheeky Sex)
Day 208 (January 27th, 2011)
Title: Cheeky Sex
This is one of those photos that a LOT of possible stories/taglines could be said, so I'm just not going to say anything about this one.
But if I was going to say something, I would have been really bad involving a math joke about how "Sex" is a subset of "Cheeky" within the "Gettin' Drunk" population. But, I wouldn't do that. Because it would be bad and people would probably throw things at me. But I do encourage you to think up even worse (or better, depending) stories for this shot!
Ps: And for some interesting context, all of these "Cheeky Sex n' Booze" was at the SFMoMA exhibit (How Wine Became Modern: Design + Wine 1976 to Now)
Enjoy

Photo 365 - Day 173 (Lost!)
Day 173 (December 23rd, 2010)
Title: Lost!
We live in a 18 story apartment building. It's a nice building, we've got security, a nice view, a forest behind us, pool, and even a soda machine, so all-in-all, its not too bad. One thing that we don't have is laundry in our apartment; we have to do our laundry in a common area. It has washers, dryers and whatnot so it's not so bad. But, it also has hundreds of folks who want to use it at all hours. And many of those people are clearly crazy (self included, although I'm a friendly kind of crazy). Some of those crazy folks like to post things on the community board in the laundry room. Little notes or news articles - they like sharing. I enjoy glancing them just to see if there is anything "crazy-specific" for me. Then I saw this post (photo below). No other information was listed - no phone, email address, apt number, anything - just the word "Lost" and the intricate, detailed rendition of the... well, whatever it is.
Now I'm scared I might see "it" and not really know what to do. Laundry room panic!
Enjoy.

Photo 365 - Day 152 (Exit Only)
Day 152 (December 2nd, 2010)
Title: Exit Only
We were walking around Berkeley near 4th street, and I saw this old, abandoned building and fencing. I saw this mangled fence "door" with its "Exit Only" sign skewed, and my first thought was: "Dang, they must have wanted to get out of there really badly!" The way that the metal is bent and twisted, it almost looks like it was made from aluminum or other soft material, not steel.
I think this is one of those shots that for some reason, I saw something interesting in it, but when viewed by others they might think I'm just a bit "off". Still, there's always tomorrow!
Enjoy!

Photo 365 - Day 141 (Pin Bird)
Day 141 (November 20th, 2010)
Title: Pin Bird
Ah, yet another strange ornament to show off! Today's ornament is just odd. Its a very old (at least 20 years, perhaps even older!), hand-made bird. Its made from little glass beads and sewing pins (I believe they are stuck into a pin-cushion of some sort). It has no feet, so I'm guessing is supposed to be some sort of hummingbird (yes, I know hummingbirds have feet, but they are usually portrayed without them). Course, it also has no wings, so I'm not sure what's really going on. Either way, its my oldest and yet most loved ornament.
Enjoy!

Photo 365 - Day 38 (Chicken Metal)
Day 38 (August 10th, 2010)
Title: Chicken Metal
This (with the Iron Flamingo) are the two best scrap metal sculptures I've seen in a very long time. We very nearly got this chicken, before we realized: a) it was huge and wouldn't fit in the car, b) we have no where that would do this wonderful piece justice in our house. Perhaps he could have sat on the kitchen table...

Photo 365 - Day 37 (Iron Flamingo)
Day 37 (August 9th, 2010)
Title: Iron Flamingo
Saw this at a antique arts store, and along with tomorrow's picture (Ooo, foreboding!) this could be one of the greatest sculptures ever! We are talking the Bernini of Scrap Metal. Lets just be honest, who WOULDN'T want a 4' iron flamingo!
In fact, here is a bonus picture of Pinky!
