Day 349 (June 17th, 2011)
Title: Ghirardelli Square

I love "cloud servers", I forgot that I could access my hard drive from home while in the hotel!  Sure it's crazy-slow (8k a second - welcome back to 1998), but at least I can finish my last project now!

Today: Ghirardelli Square, San Francisco, CA

Photo 365 - Day 328 (Ghirardelli Square)

Day 328 (May 27th, 2011)
Title: Ghirardelli Square

Ghirardelli Square, an entire square city block dedicated to chocolate!  If you are ever visiting San Francisco, make sure that you add Ghirardelli square as one of your "must see" spots!  And pick me up some milk chocolate bars, thanks!

Enjoy!

Photo 365 - Day 327 (Surfer Fog)

Day 327 (May 26th, 2011)
Title: Surfer Fog

A sad, but true, conversation heard while I was taking pictures:

Surfer #1: Dude, look it's the Golden Gate!

Surfer #2 (not in photo): Wow!  You've got to get a picture!

Surfer #1: I know, right!  .  Ahh, man!  Its all blurry cuz of the fog!

Surfer #2: Dude, just wipe the lens off! Then their won't be any fog!

Surfer #1: Hey!  Look, its much better, now you can see the fog over the bridge!

I just stood there and blinked a lot.

Enjoy!

Yeah, I know, another backwards photo!  I'm not sure why I find these so amusing, but I do!  Ghirardelli ice cream shop in San Francisco, the ice cream is okay, but the toppings are fantastic!

Photo 365 - Day 235 (Church Attire)

Day 325 (May 24th, 2011)
Title: Church Attire

Like the shot glasses that I never really see anyone buy, every shop seems to have these t-shirts hanging in the window/awning.  Who buy's these things!?  I mean, other than frat parties, exactly what social occasion would these be appropriate to wear?

Enjoy!

Day 323 (May 22nd, 2011)
Title: SFDUU

Drug Users Union?  Of course, San Francisco, you would be the one city that would try and unionize all of the drug users.  I wonder if the members pay their dues via "product"... Exactly what union benefits do the members get?  I'm guessing not so much on the health insurance.

I also enjoy the additional "We are the Drug Policy Alliance." sticker.  I'm pretty sure the policy is, if you do them you go to jail... But, who knows.  Got to love the city!

Enjoy!

Photo 365 - Day 322 (Shoe Horn)

Day 322 (May 21st, 2011)
Title: Shoe Horn

I'll be honest, I have no idea what this thing is.  Perhaps some sort of speaker and/or lighting system or death-laser ray beam thing.  All I know is, it looked interesting and therefore, it gets a picture!  I also liked how the building behind is framed in it's architecture.

Enjoy!

Photo 365 - Day 321 (Idle Flower)

Day 321 (May 20th, 2011)
Title: Idle Flower

At first, I thought: Hey, look at that, the city is try to look nicer by putting up flowers on the light posts.  How lovely!".  Then, while waiting for folks to come out yet another random store that was selling the EXACT same t-shirts as the other 5 stores, I noticed, if you look just the right way (and by "right way" I mean the want that say, any normal person driving a car might look), the flowers completely block the "Don't Idle Your Car Otherwise We Will Ticket Yo Ass!" sign.  So, in essence, what was learned was: The city parks department in San Francisco really hates people (especially drivers).

Subject: Lamp post with "conveniently" placed flowers.

Enjoy!

Photo 365 - Day 320 (San Fran Shots)

Day 320 (May 19th, 2011)
Title: San Fran Shots

Every little "tourist trap" store that you go into in San Francisco (as well as most other cities really) always has a zillion shot glasses out on display.  Yet, I've never seen anyone actually buy one of these shot glasses, nor do I know anyone who has such a shot glass.  I wonder if its just some law that requires such store to carry a certain amount of shot glasses at all times, you know, in case of a sudden Scotch emergency or something.

Subject: Shot glasses in local tourist-trap store

Photo 365 - Day 319 (Jefferson Street)

Day 319 (May 18th, 2011)
Title: Jefferson Street

I really enjoy old street signs and when I saw this sign for Jefferson street (at Taylor), I thought I'd try and make it "Ye Olde" with a little bit of photoshopping.

Photo 365 - Day 318 (Scharffentastic)

Day 318 (May 17th, 2011)
Title: Scharffentastic

Oh, Scharffen Berger candy, you are evil... So evil in fact, you must be destroyed at all cost!  Destroyed, nibble by nibble!  Mu-hahaha!  Yum.

Subject: Row, upon row of Scharffen Berger goodness.

Enjoy!

Photo 365 - Day 317 (Bread Basket)

Day 317 (May 16th, 2011)
Title: Bread Basket

One of the cool things they have at the Boudin's Bakery is this "Bread Basket" train overhead that constantly brings fresh bread from the bakery to the storefront.  Clearly what they didn't plan on was me being 6'5" and the ability to reach into said baskets.  For some reason we get kicked out places a lot... I blame Theresa.

Photo 365 - Day 315 (Hyundai)

Day 315 (May 14th, 2011)
Title: Hyundai

One of my favorite things to do while hanging out near the piers in San Fran (wow, could this be the opening line of a bad joke), is watch the giant cargo ships head to the Oakland docks.

Photo 365 - Day 314 (Boudin)

Day 314 (May 13th, 2011)
Title: Boudin

If your in San Francisco, and you brain tells you: "Gosh, I bet some clam chowder in a sour-dough bread-bowl would be lovely right now!", there's only one place to go: Boudins!  Course, I would also recommend the fish and chip.  And you can pick up an extra 40 pounds of sour dough to take home... you know, as souvenirs.

Photo 365 - Day 313 (Fisherman's Wharf)

Day 313 (May 12th, 2011)
Title: Fisherman's Wharf

By law, if you have a camera anywhere near you, you are required to take a picture of the sign at Fisherman's Wharf.  It doesn't even matter if it's your camera, just grab some random tourist's camera and shoot a picture.  Trust me, they'll thank you for it later.

Subject: An unknown, rarely visited sign in San Francisco.

Enjoy!

Day 312 (May 11th, 2011)

A little break from the shapes fun, now we turn our attention to some fun in San Francisco!

Subject: Bay Bridge, slightly askew.

Photo 365 - Day 306 (FasTrak)

Day 306 (May 5th, 2011)
Title: FasTrak

Honestly, I'm not even sure that I really like this particular shot, but for some reason it really amuses me.  When I look at it, it reminds me of the FasTrak lanes on the Bay Bridge heading into San Francisco.  I guess that's amusing, because they are not fast, nor are they particularly "on track" (you have to swerve between many lanes to get into/out of the correct lanes).  So, yeah, my 'abstract joke' via photographic medium.

Subject: Even more cubes, although smaller, with dots.

Enjoy!
