Title: Rocky Mountains #1

A photo of the Rocky Mountains on our way to Denver, CO.  Sorry for the graininess of the photos recently, the fun of using a camera phone.  This picture was taken by Theresa!  Thank you!!

Enjoy!

Photo 365 - Day 248 (Cloud Peak)

Day 248 (March 8th, 2011)
Title: Cloud Peak

Kind of a "bonus cloud" shot that I got in San Francisco, via my iPhone.  Sometimes the clouds in the city are just crazy-nice looking and this was one of those times.  On a somewhat related (but not really) note, if you ever have the chance to see the comedian Dan Gabriel, I would highly recommend it.  He is crazy funny.  We were lucky enough to see him and I can tell you, it was worth the two drink minimum and cover charge!  He really knows how to work the crowd and his humor is really smart and witty.  You can see some of his stuff on YouTube

Enjoy

Photo 365 - Day 243 (Clouds #1)

Day 243 (March 3rd, 2011)
Title: Clouds #1

Normally we in the San Francisco Bay Area don't have much in the way of real weather.  We have a little rain now and then, perhaps a little wind - but nothing like snow or hurricanes.  Okay, true, we sometimes have little things called earthquakes, but at least those are short.  Lately we've had some really amazing cloud patterns, that I have to say have been quite photogenic!  Mind you, we still didn't get any rain or anything, because let's be honest, we don't believe in real weather in California.

This will be a collection of 5 shots, over the next 5 days.  I hope you enjoy them!

Photo 365 - Day 212 (Shadow Bridge)

Day 212 (January 31st, 2011)
Title: Shadow Bridge

Going along with yesterday's "boring" photo of the tennis court, I found this picture of a bridge I took and, at first glance it was really dull and flat.  I decided, ala tennis court, that I would try and fix it up.  I played with contrast, lighting and some other photoshop tricks and I really like how this one came out.  It has some "pop" but still easy to identify.

Hope you like it.

Photo 365 - Day 94 (Vista Point)

Day 94 (October 5th, 2010)
Title: Vista Point

This is one of those random "scenic views stop ahead" areas that we found with the help of our friends.  It was an amazing view looking over a river, forest, mountains and even the clouds were being all photogenic!  This is one of those times that I really wish I had practiced how to do HDR photos better, unfortunately, I did not have my full Canon "kit" with me and had to make due with my Olympus. With HDR (High Dynamic Range), I could have gotten much more details in both the highlights of the lowlands and in the clouds.  If I was doing this picture using my Canon, I think I would have taken 6-10 frames, all at f/5.6 but with a shutter speed ranging from 1/60th for the shadows to 1/500th for the clouds (in half-stop increments).  All in all, I do think that the picture came out well and I really enjoyed the trip getting it.

Enjoy!
